Cali raised but the south is unfuckingtouchable rapwise -tx,tn. I think most other rap sucks as a whole . wit the the exception of public enemy and NWA It ALL was weak before mid 90s TX and Memphis. I try but rap is only HOLY SHIT good when its along the lines of screw, p pat, ugk, early 3-6, bubba luv (freestyle underdog champ)
If you are wanting to check out metal and hard rock I say my top suggestions in 30 years of being obsessed with the scenes is:

1. Bolt thrower_
- uk mild death metal. Only theme is wars in history. Fuck Metallica, this is what you would expect when shits going to pop off between 50000 solders.

Morbid Angel- technical and evil. speed and tightness is legendary. Too much for most metal fans, but you may just be that fucked up and get it.


graveyard- sweden. 70s style, fuzz. What stoner rock is (black sabbath ish )

Kyuss- stoner gods

FRANK ZAPPA- the dude is maybe the most skilled musician and no boundaries Composer of the 20th century. Only the best artist from all styles worked with him. Hendrix and zappa were the greatest of the 20th century IMHO. Zappa played tons of shit but his guitar playing is influenced by the blues underhyped legends of the 40s 50s. Smooth. Incorporates lots of brass and xylophone . But good xylophone. E.G. Slap your grandmas toothis out her mouf ...level good.

Chris Cornell . Best vocals on earth. Early Soundgarden stuff sounds like he's a Pissed off Lion
(not to be confused with a snoop lion who is also a dog, and a dragon (of clouds)

I won't mention all the shit from the soul scene of the 70's we all know.

Just scoped it. That's actually more like Incantation (the godfathers of that style.) It is tight though. Not overproduced which works in rap but not metal
