I use to have a nice system in my car back in the day I had only 1 12 lol and people swore I had like 2 15’s......it was a JL audio W-7 12 with a 1000/1 JL audio amp and it was so sweeeeeet and I even had a kill switch so that I could turn off the base when I didn’t feel like being so obnoxious. I paid around 2000 for the setup

I sold it for the low low literally and someone got lucky for sure cuz I really didn’t ever turn up the watts like that so it was new af I sold it for 250$ which was really dumb of me

I'm thinking of getting 2 12s and an amp but I don't remember how all that shit works, like what's good and what subs will match up well w which amp

It all depends on your budget..

You can get some pretty decent 12s like Kicker or rockford fosgates without breaking the bank..

Or like Rimure3 some JL Audio but those are sort of the Apple of subwoofers. Overpriced just for the name..

And as far as the amp, it's hard to tell until you've picked out the subs you want.. so what I would do is first find the subs in your budget then go to crutchfield.com and ask them which amp will work for those subs.

They know their shit in terms of enough RMS watts and correct ohm load for your subs and will even send you wiring diagrams for free.. that's how i found the perfect amp for my subs. And i didnt even buy from their website. I just wrote down the amp they recommended and then googled it and found it at best buy


So yeah. Find your subs first and go from there.
