What's the term for rappers from up north? There's west coast, east cosst, and third coast rap.. but i dont know what to call rap from up there...

Niggas who think they are smart when they are not

Like conscious rappers and to a larger extent academia exist within institutions that fundamentally exist to uphold much of society's ills like poverty. The purpose of school is to reproduce and instill current ideology, and so-called progressive thinking is constrained by those boundaries at the end of the day. We do not question the existence of poverty, only find ways to ameliorate its effects.

So conscious rap doesn't appeal to me because it does nothing to challenge the social fabric. Outside of getting paid, Kendrick is wasting his breath with his music That Detroit street rap (and gangsta rap in general) is of a million times more merit because at least it is oriented to teaching niggas to survive
