Peace...
A quick history lesson about the iconic, two fingered PEACE SIGN....

The peace sign was created in 1657 by Gregory Antonio Peace...While at work in his father's barn, a horse bit off Peace's thumb, pinky and ring finger.... With only his index and middle fingers present on his right hand, Peace was easily identified by those looking for him. When the police searched for whomever knocked over the butcher's trash cans, a witness held up two fingers and said the man with the mangled hand did it. When another person was asked if they knew the man with only two fingers the person put up his index and middle fingers and said YEAH. PEACE. A young boy standing nearby saw the man put up the two fingered salute and heard him say PEACE. The image stuck in his head. One afternoon, a bully confronted the young boy and demanded he give him his new high top SHAKESPEARES..(a lot of kids had gotten stabbed and robbed for those '57 Shakes.)
The boy, remembering the two fingered gesture, lifted his hand with the index and middle finger out and said PEACE... the bully, shocked by the hyper-cool gesture, flew a PEACE back and left the kid alone. The kid got robbed later on when his plea for PEACE failed to impress another thug but the impression had been made. The first bully popularized the PEACE sign and the gesture withstood the test of time. Although it died out during the 1800's, Vietnam brought the SIGN back strong and with all you gangsters out there taking PEACED OUT selfies for 2 or 3 likes, the tradition continues...
