Back in the days I used to listen to albums from start to finish. I would also dabble in playlists and make my own shit from that as well.

I was wondering if you think that niggas still listen to full-length albums in 2017. While I still do that, I am noticing that I more-or-less focus on making playlists for my extended listening session needs.

On another note, is there some sort of trend now where songs typically last between 2-3 minutes? When I started listening to rap heavily back in 2008 (middle school), rap songs were typically 3-5 minutes in length. Now when I look at a full-length album, I notice that most of the songs don't even make it to 3 minutes. This shit is mostly from the independent music I listen to and I could imagine that mainstream shit follows the same formula.

I jam albums from start to finish because that's my only way to know what songs I like. I hate when songs are 2-3 minutes, especially when they jam. I've noticed that many lack 3 verses.

I still jam full albums because for some reason sometimes the shittiest songs end up the most popular and not the songs I like. So I like to listen to the whole album and be the judge.

And yeah i hate when a song that jams only lasts like 2-3 minutes.. i guess its hard to maintain a consistent music vibe so they run out of content and cut it short. Or maybe because people nowadays have short attention spans so some educated white person in marketing suggested they shorten the length of their songs...because people are stupid as fuck now and just wanna hear a catchy hook for 30 seconds at the club and then move on to the next song
