This is the first generation that tries to whipe away the history of it's rap culture.
The rappers you clown for being older are long time established rappers
The new rappers many times are fly by night rappers here today gone tomorrow
You have to have the K-Rinos of the rap game as reference points.
The 5thward Boyz,Trinity Garden Cartels,Bushwick Bills,Nips,The Street Militarys,20-2-Life,Convicts,Big Mikes etc etc.
This is the throw away generation that will make a rapper hot 1 minute then forget his ever rapped the next minute.
There are tons of examples of rappers that was made to be hott in the industry and are thrown away the next.
This is th generation where a hundred new rappers come out everyday
You can'r support 100 new rappers but this generation makes them hot but not enough support to sustain their career
so let's say you have a 100 dollars to which is a 100 fans
these 100 fans have 100 dollars to support
1000 rappers = 10 bucks per rapper
The money and support is being divided too many times
back in the day they didn't constantly bring out new rappers
it's just math.
Many times these rappers are gone before you know it
So when they ask you who is a rapper from your city?
What is the legacy and history of your city?
Who can you reference?
The long standing rappers that have been in the game no matter if they are underground they represent the culture as a reference point.
Point is: Know your rap roots and know your history !!!
