Rapper "Lil Flip" partners with Miami startup tech company; the latest artist among others taking the stance against music streaming service giants low per-stream payouts.
SOUTH BEACH, Fla., May 25, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- After months of negotiating, it is confirmed that Houston, Texas multi-platinum recording artist "Lil Flip" also known as "The Freestyle King" has partnered with Miami startup tech company, Lang BridgeApp, Inc. in a project to brake the language barrier between fans and entertainers; more importantly, reestablishing the value of musical art; a continuing effort for fair compensation for artist. Lil Flip is the latest among other multi-platinum selling artist who have become a shareholder of a tech company, all in taking the stance against music streaming services lousy payouts to artist: which has been said to pay artist a little short of half a penny ($0.004) per-stream.
Similarly, back in March 2015 at the 'Skylight at Moynihan Station' in New York, Hip Hop mogul Jay-Z, joined by 17 other top musicians: Alicia Keys, Calvin Harris, Win Butler and Régine Chassagne from Arcade fire, Chris Martin from Coldplay, Beyonce, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter from Daft Punk, Jack White, J. Cole, Jason Aldean, Kanye West, Deadmaus, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Usher all took center stage to take a stance against existing music streaming services, all in favor of fair compensation for artist, while launching their very own music streaming company, "TIDAL."
"Lil Flip is an artist who has sold over 23 million records, and like other musicians, understands the importance of entertainers being fairly paid for their hard efforts" said Lang BridgeApp's CEO, Terry Moss. "Honestly, no one can deny the [stain!] that free music consumption has left on our industry, it's embarrassing to watch our musicians work for peanuts."
Artist's fair compensation has now become a growing concern for musicians, but was first brought to the forefront in year 2014 when "Pop Superstar" Taylor Swift announced she was pulling her smash album "1989" off of [music streaming giant] Spotify services because she felt Spotify's low per-stream payouts devalued her art.
The Lang BridgeApp® itself, is a direct text messenger that features automatic language translation that will give artists and international fans the ability to communicate with one another through via text without language barriers. In conjunction with the project, the Lang BridgeApp® Store host the sales of downloadable products where fans will be able to purchase items of their favorite entertainer.
The company looks to gain 40 million active users of Lang BridgeApp® by late (next year) 2017 and $5 million in product sales which would give the company a $4 billion valuation, equaling Lil Flip's portion of the deal, $80 million plus.
