Dallas police officer arrested in shooting death of Botham Shem Jean
https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/09/us/amber ... index.html(CNN)A Dallas police officer was arrested Sunday in connection with the shooting death of Botham Shem Jean, the Texas Rangers said.
Amber Guyger, who is white, was off-duty when she shot Jean, a black man, after mistakenly entering his apartment at the complex where she also lived, police said Thursday. Jean, 26, a native of St. Lucia who worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Dallas, died at a hospital.

Chicago Police Officer Found Guilty Of 2nd-Degree Murder Of Laquan McDonald
https://www.npr.org/2018/10/05/65446552 ... n-mcdonaldWhite Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke has been found guilty of second-degree murder in the shooting death of black teenager Laquan McDonald.
It took the jury of eight women and four men about eight hours to reach a verdict.
It's the first time in decades that a Chicago police officer has been convicted of murder for an on-duty death. Jurors also found Van Dyke guilty of 16 counts of aggravated battery with a firearm. He was acquitted on one count of official misconduct.
It's unclear how much time Van Dyke will serve in prison. The judge in the case will sentence Van Dyke at a later date.
