UGK in Big Pimpin'

This may have been answered before and many other times but I was thinking on it yesterday. How did Jay-Z hook up with UGK for Big Pimpin. I feel like at that time the south was only starting to get recognition. Being Underground Kingz, how did Bun and Pimp link up with someone from New York?

i haven't read the book but i heard the girl that's with pimp c on the video was supposed to be with jay z but pimp shot his scene first and used her as revenge for jay z not having them in the same hotel as him while they were in miami lol #fool

I definitely have to check out the Pimp book. I've seen a ton of good stuff about it.
